About Me
Hi, I’m Lucy May, a photographer specialising in sports, events, and nature.
My journey with photography started at an early age, back when I was borrowing my dad’s camera. I eventually saved up enough to buy my very first camera and incredibly, it’s still going strong today! For me, photography is all about the peacefulness it brings and the magic of freezing a moment in time.
Today, my work focuses on three main areas: Sports, Events, and Nature photography.
Before focusing on my creative work and joining Click Marketing, one of the UK’s leading digital marketing agencies, I spent nearly 20 years in the horse racing industry as an amateur jockey. Living in that fast-paced world honed my ability to read movement instantly, a skill that translates perfectly into capturing the peak action of sports and events. It also gave me a deep, intuitive understanding of horses, allowing me to capture their power and spirit.
Whether I am capturing the intensity of a sporting event, the candid energy of a special gathering, or finding quiet stillness in nature, photographing the delicate world of bees and the charm of puffins, my goal is always the same: to tell an authentic story.
